30th June 2009 - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Yarmouth and District Riding Clubs' shows have NOT been cancelled.
Unfortunately, Great Yarmouth and District Riding club have been the victims of website saboteurs. Their site has been accessed by unauthorised person(s) who have have entered damaging and incorrect information. It is claimed that 'due to problems within the club, the committee has decided to cancel all remaining shows for the rest of the season'.
This is NOT correct. We have been assured that there are no problems within the committee and all shows planned for the 2009 season will go ahead as expected.
The matter is being reported to the police and GYDRC are attempting to get the information removed their website as a matter or urgency. However, the offenders have changed all log in details and have also accessed e-mail accounts and so it could take a few days to rectify the situation.
Can we please ask that any communication received from unauthorised persons claiming that shows have been cancelled, please be ignored and, if possible reported to us via the ' Contact Us' page of this website. Could we also please ask that you correct anyone who has seen the aforementioned statement and advise them that all shows will continue throughout the 2009 season.
All of us at Humberstone Farm are please to be associated with, and support Great Yarmouth and District Riding club. We do not condone this kind of underhand behaviour and any persons found to be linked to this disgraceful act will not be welcome at our facility.

Portia Howard has competed all over Europe with many wins, including jumping 3 European championships, winning a silver medal in Athens. She has also competed in 3 Senior Nations Cups, and has currently got a fantastic team of horses behind her.
She will be running a show jumping clinic at Humberstone Farm Equestrian Centre on the 19th March 2009, from 4pm, with a demonstration starting at 6pm. The event is open to all and serves as a great opportunity for aspiring show jumpers to learn and develop new skills, whether riding their own horses, or simply watching the action from the spectator area. Tickets cost £15 per student or £5 per spectator, juniors taking part in the clinic who are under 18 years of age will also receive one free adult spectator pass. To book your place, or for more information please call Sue on 07836 276290.
We are very excited to announce that our facility has today been featured, in a rare double page spread, on the pages of the prestigious Horse and Hound magazine. Horse and Hound is the UK's leading equestrian publication and sells almost 260,000 copies per week nationwide. The feature reports on the Blue Chip qualifiers, which we had the enormous pleasure of hosting last weekend, 8th & 9th November 2008. We would like to thank Sue Peasley and all at Norfolk Show Jumping Club for bringing this wonderful publicity to our facility. We are extremely grateful to all involved.
We have been experiencing drainage problems with our outdoor warm up area. Your safety and enjoyment is our number one priority and so we have installed a temporary new surface to allow you to warm up safely and effectively. We would like to thank you all for your continued support.
We are pleased to announce that we will be running Trailblazers showjumping and dressage events at Humberstone Farm throughout the year. For dates and schedules, please visit our Events page. To find out more about the Trailblazers Championships, please visit:

Our new facility, Breydon Arena was officially opened by the Mayor of Great Yarmouth on Saturday, 27th September 2008.
It was a beautiful sunny day and people turned out in their droves to witness the occasion. We would like to thank each and every person who came to support us on what turned out to be an absolutely fantastic day. We are extremely grateful and hope that you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.
The day started with the last minute inclusion of Paralympic hopeful, Suzi Rodgers-Hartley. Suzi gave an amazing display and demonstrated extreme courage and determination. Suzi is and inspiration to all and is seeking sponsorship to help her to pursue her Olympic dream. If you can assist her, please contact us and we will pass on your details. Good luck Suzi.
Mr and Mrs Easter, Mayor and Mayoress of Great Yarmouth, cut the ribbon at 1:30pm to officially open the venue. The Mayoress was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the youngest member of the Vincent family, Tegan Paige.
Next came the mayhem of the inter-club knockout show jumping competition. This was a real crowd pleaser and produced a thrilling finale which saw Charlotte Peasley edge home to take a narrow victory for Norfolk show jumping club. Thank you to all involved.
Emma Lacey followed with a superb show jumping clinic/demonstration which offered a real insight into the technical demands of show jumping. Emma is a fantastic trainer and is one of only six in the country to hold a level three, BSJA UK Coaching Certificate. Anyone wishing to develop their show jumping skills may contact Emma on 07748 490453. Thank you for your help Emma.
Next came Matthew Marham, from the Western Equestrian society. Matthew has a command over his horse which mystifies, the horse reacts instantly to his every command. Thank you for giving an awe inspiring display.
Hardly able to catch their breath, the crowd were next treated to a feast of driving. Representatives from both the British Driving, and the British Driving Trials Association were on hand to give an impressive display. A special mention a must go to the donkey! Anyone who would be interested to see Driving competitions and training at Humberstone Farm, please Contact us
A breakdown meant the next demonstration had to be cancelled leaving an unfortunate break in the day. It was worth the wait however as the Great Yarmouth Drifters Flyball club finished the day with a fun packed demonstration of their sport. Star of the show was 'Grandad' who got a rousing ovation on completing the run. The club will be holding fortnightly training sessions at Humberstone Farm. Please view our Events page or contact Eileen Wooldridge on 01493 782174 for more details
Thanks again to all involved.
